La Palma has ideal water temperatures for diving, all year round. It’s not exactly the Red Sea, but we do get up to 25° C in Summer and in winter it rarely drops below 18° C.

You won't see the same ranges of colours or the same amount of large fish that you'd see in say, Micronesia, but the visibility here is excellent and the underwater landscape is fascinating; a very recommendable option for all levels of diving.

Under the surface La Palma's spectacular volcanic landscape looks even more surreal; this is one of the major highlights of diving here. You can explore walls, grottos, canyons and tunnels along with some very interesting caves and chimneys.

You'll see all kinds of fantastic things down here like: schooling fish, barracudas, groupers, trompet-fish, nudibranches, sea hares, scorpion fish, flounders, octopuses, moray eels, sting rays, eagle rays and you might even get to see a manta ray or better still, a turtle!

Los Cancajos is one of the best places to go diving on the island. The reef is very big, and so, caters to all different experience levels. In most cases, it's not even necessary to do a boat dive. A shore dive will get you to the best spots with minimum exertion. Everything is just a stones throw away.

If you can, try a night dive or a dive with one of those underwater scooter things. You won’t regret it!

Diving off La Palma is a very special experience in a very different environment.
