There are museums all over the islands housing all kinds of ancient and modern art and design as well as some fascinating archaeological finds. On Tenerife there's the Museum of Holy Art which is probably the most important on the island. It's home to hundreds of photographs, sliver and gold work, sculptures and books from the 17th century.
There’s also the Ibero-American Craft Museum, where you'll find some fascinating exhibits from America and Spain both past and present.
Other places of interest on the island include: the Science and Space Museum and the Circle of Fine Arts.
If you're on Lanzarote, you should check out the Manrique Foundation and the International Modern Art Museum.
Fuerteventura is home to the Museum of Ethnography which is located in Betancuria. Also well worth checking out is the Casa de la Cilla; it has some very interesting displays on indigenous Canarian arts and crafts.
On Gran Canaria, there's the: Leon y Castillo Museum, the Columbus Museum and the Atlantic Modern Art Museum (CAAM).
La Palma even has some interesting museums; the most important being the La Palma are the Naval Museum and the Island Museum. |
